It stands for Semi Permanent MakeUp, also described as Permanent MakeUp, cosmetic tattooing, micropigmentation or microblading. Although Semi Permanent it's important to know the pigment applied can last between 1-3 years.
Artists use an electric machine driven needle to deposit small amounts of ink in the upper dermal layers of skin. (like a tattoo but much closer to the surface)
This pigment will, after a healing process, stay in the skin for a number of years - breaking down and fading with time, dependent on your age, skin type, skin care and sun exposure.
It's great for;
It recommended the colour is topped up at 12 months to ensure a fresh appearence.
The pigment is implanted much closer to the surface than a normal tattoo so it doesn't spread and will start to fade after 12 months as your skin naturally exfoliates but can last up to 3 years depending on certain factors such as;
We can achieve a wider range of effects with Machine Permanent Makeup such as shading, ombré and also super natural hairstrokes. It's also much kinder to the skin, causing less scaring than microblading. We use the same digital device to carry out our lip and eyeliner treatments.
The appointment will take about 2 hours, first we'll apply anesthetic to the area to help you feel more comfortable, then with your input we'll draw and perfect the shape and style and choose the best colour to suit you. Once you're happy and we've made sure you're aware of the aftercare the treatment will take place. It takes a few repeat strokes to input the colour so we move back and forth between each side.
The treated area may appear red and slightly swell immediately afterwards and will appear darker and more exact the first day, but will lighten and soften over a few days.
You will be given an aftercare leaflet with everything you need to get the best results from your new makeup. It can take up to 6 weeks before you see the resulting colour of the treatment and at this point we'll ask you to return to see the tweaks that can be made to perfect your permanent makeup. It's after your touch up that you will truely love them
